About Florida Hospital

For nearly 100 years the mission of Florida Hospital has been to help our patients, guests and friends achieve whole-person health and healing.

With seven hospital campuses and 16 walk-in medical centers, Florida Hospital cares for nearly one million patients every year.

Over a decade ago Florida Hospital began working with the Disney Corporation to create a groundbreaking facility that would showcase the model of healthcare for the 21st century and stay on the cutting edge of medical technology as it develops. Working with a team of medical experts, industry leaders, and healthcare futurists, we designed and built a whole-person health hospital named Celebration Health located in Disney's town of Celebration, Florida. Since opening its doors in 1997, Celebration Health has been awarded the Premier Patient Services Innovator Award as "The Model for Healthcare Delivery in the 21st Century."

When Dr. Lydia Parmele, the first female physician in the state of Florida, and her medical team opened our first healthcare facility in 1908, their goal was to create a healing environment where they not only treated illness, but also provided the support and education necessary to help patients achieve whole-person health mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially.

The lifestyle advocated by our founders remains central to all we do at Florida Hospital. We teach patients how to reduce the risk of disease through healthy lifestyle choices, encouraging the use of natural remedies such as fresh air, sunshine, water, rest, nutrition, exercise, outlook, faith, and interpersonal relationships.
